Cheatin' Chicken Soup

I caught Youngest's cold (big surprise there) and have been miserable all week. I detest being sick. C.A.N.N.O.T. stand to be sick. I don't have the energy to do anything, but I have been craving Chicken Soup. No energy = no motivation = no cooking so I cheated. It hit the spot, but I am still sick. I hate being sick!

PS - That is premade chicken stock, precut carrot shreds, tiny ABC noodles (they cook super fast in the broth), and precut Perdue chicken slices. See - told ya I cheated. Now I am off to blow my nose for the 415th time today.

I am changing my name

Just call me Mr. Lopez because that's the guy that stole my identity. I hope he had fun (NOT) because he is now in federal prison waiting to be deported. What a P.I.T.A!!!!! Now I am having so much fun with the Justice Department, the Immigration and Customs Service, the Social Security Administration, and the IRS. Oh, joy!

Momma's getting a break

Middle is on the mend. Hallelujah!!! She is eating and sleeping regularly; the cough is disappearing. The antibiotics are all finished. My girl's sassy tude is back - what a relief. She is looking forward to some major fun time this weekend to make up for the last two weeks.

After two full weeks of non-stop nursing to get Middle well, I am taking a short break. I am leaving in 5 hours for a weekend of fun at CPR. I cannot wait!!! Patti and I are driving up to Port Matilda to stay at the St. Joseph's Institute with a group of other fantastic ladies. (Julia ~ it isn't too late. Pack a bag!) Update with photos coming later! ;-)

SS Blog Challenge

The first one I actually participated in. I am lazy.

Blog Challenge #12 - Getting To Know

**don't have the photo to post now...will work on that ;-)

1) Right now I want: time to go scrap and unpack from Patti's crop that was 2 week's ago

2) I wish I knew how to: say no; knit; make myself go down to the home gym more

3) When I want to indulge myself, I: buy what I want (within reason - no 40" plasmas here)

4) You’ll never see me: wearing a size 5 again, sigh...

5) A childhood memory that I love: spending the day with my grandmother, going to Rose's and buying a toy, Grammy making her wonderful hamburgers in the cast iron skillet

6) 2 things I do every single day: get up :-); go to bed

7) Happiest moment of 2008, so far: spending time with my dad and he actually feels better

8) Describe yourself in 3 words: boring, opininated, anal

9) 2 scrap related goals for this year: to get it done and to get it done

10) You have $40 that you MUST spend on yourself – what do you do with it? new jeans in a size 8 or 10 petite (but that involves the $40 and 40 fewer pounds)

VENT...

UGH....that's all. No move along - nothing to see here but craziness. Someone with too much on their plate today.

Where does my day go?

Every feel that way? Gracious! I get up before 7 AM and don't go to bed until 11 PM or later, and I swear I don't know where the day went. I have been trying and trying to set aside some time to scrap and work on reading a few new books I have. But to quote Tim Gunn - I can't seem to "make it work." I think I need to start keeping track of what I am doing during the day - but that might be a scary revelation.
I don't know what I can change or subtract out of my day. The kids have to be taken care of, the house needs to be cleaned or at least straightened up, I have to work a few hours each day if I want a paycheck, I only volunteer one day a week now,.... I just don't know. Tomorrow isn't going to be much better as I am switching days with Amy Sue to work on the teachers' laminating. Then I need to finish vacuuming the upstairs and maybe try to dust a little, fix and clean-up after three meals. Middle's Open House is tomorrow night so that means homework to do and I have to get in my work hours earlier since I won't be home later. Ugh.... there won't be anytime left again. Plus the basement is calling my name since I just threw all the toys over the gate to be put away later. Now they just sit 'cause they ain't calling anyone else's name - or they can ignore it pretty damn well.
I so need a nanny, maid, chauffeur, chef, oh, and a personal assistant and trainer. Oh, that would be fabulous. A girl can dream! ;-)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Feeling kinda Sixteen Candles - ish. DH hasn't said a thing about my BD - which is very, highly, extremely unusual. Let's see what happens when he finally gets home tonight.
